Wanted: Associate Director of Church Society
Posted by Lee Gatiss, 28 Feb 2017
We are looking for a part-time Associate Director to join our team. Could it be you, or someone you know...?
We are seeking someone to assist in organising some of the core activities of Church Society.
The post-holder will need enthusiasm, initiative, and a clear aptitude for the various aspects of the work. Whilst experience is desirable, training can be given when necessary.
The main tasks are:
Editing Crossway — our quarterly magazine is possibly the most important resource we produce for members and others. We need someone to commission articles, edit and proof read the copy, and liaise with typesetting and designers to ensure a professional looking resource which is of maximum usefulness to our readers and members.
Organising Conferences — we play a key role in organising four conferences each year: the annual Church Society conference and AGM in May/June; the Junior Anglican Evangelical Conference (JAEC) in August; the ReNew conference with Reform and AMiE in September; and the joint Church Society-Fellowship of Word & Spirit Conference around January. We need someone to help plan the programmes, liaise with speakers, help design flyers, and be around on the conferences to ensure they run smoothly and effectively.
Increasing Awareness — we need someone to take charge of our monthly email newsletter and other publicity/membership leaflets and banners, as well as keeping an eye on our website and social media output to ensure it is regular, effective, and appropriate.
This part-time role is open to a man or a woman, and could suit several different kinds of applicant: an ordained person in a House for Duty role, looking for a continuing area of ministry outside the parish; a PhD student looking to continue some ministry alongside study; a clergy spouse or experienced layperson looking to make the most of their understanding and experience of the church in a part-time role.
So if that could be you, or someone you know, please download the job description here. And let us know you’re interested by Sunday 12th March.
