Lee on the Lectionary: Proper 7 (Year C)

Posted by Lee Gatiss, 15 Jun 2016

Lee Gatiss talks through the Lectionary readings for the week known as Proper 7 (Year C), which are 1 Kings 19:1-15, Galatians 3:23-29, and Luke 8:26-39.

This Sunday’s readings speak of dramatic escapes, which teach us humility before the God who rescues and continues his work. The readings can be found here.

As previously mentioned, this is part of our new weekly effort to expound the three main Lectionary readings for each Sunday. It is not, however, a copy of my weekly column in the Church of England Newspaper, which is working through the continuous expository series permitted by the Lectionary (currently in the midst of a 6 week series in Galatians).

You can also follow along with these videos on Facebook at facebook.com/lectionarylee.

Lee Gatiss is the Director of Church Society and a weekly columnist in the Church of England Newspaper.
