Lee Gatiss talks through the Lectionary readings for the fourth Sunday after Trinity (Year C), which are 1 Kings 19:1-15, Galatians 3:23-29, and Luke 8:26-39.

This Sunday’s readings speak of dramatic escapes, which teach us humility before the God who rescues and continues his work. The readings can be found here.

As previously mentioned, this is part of our new weekly effort to expound the three main Lectionary readings for each Sunday. It is not, however, a copy of my weekly column in the Church of England Newspaper, which is working through the continuous expository series permitted by the Lectionary (currently in the midst of a 6 week series in Galatians).
