Jake Eggertsen, an ordinand studying at Oak Hill, a member of CEEC, and on the JAEC committee, explains how he has benefitted from all three organisations in the past and is glad that they are coming together for the future.
Hello. My name’s Jake Eggertsen and I’m an ordinand studying at Oakhill Theological College. I’m also a keen member of the Junior Anglicans Evangelical Conference which brings many people together from those exploring ordination to those in the early days of their first incumbency.
I think the merger between Church Society, Reform and the Fellowship of Word and Spirit is a great thing. Personally I have benefitted greatly from all three of those originations. The Church Society resources have enriched me and shaped me as an Anglican Evangelical, the FWS Conference last year was one of my favourite weeks of the year and being a member of Reform has helped me to understand some of the challenges we face and contend for the gospel in my situation.
I would urge others to join Church Society and if you are an ordinand you also get the benefit of reduced membership and a subscription to the Churchman journal. What’s not to love?
