Churchman, Autumn 2017
Posted by Ros Clarke, 12 Oct 2017
The latest edition of Churchman is now available.
This edition of Churchman spans the ages with articles discussing the super-contemporary issue of the effect of social media on sharing the gospel, back through to the 5th century with a look at sin, grace and the Spirit in the work of Prosper of Aquitaine.
Gerald Bray’s editorial considers ‘The Turn of the Tide’ in today’s Church of England.
As well as Aaron Matherly’s article on Prosper of Aquitaine, there is an article on Cranmer’s view of justification. Pastoral theology is addressed in Alan Wenham’s article on twitter and John Lineberger’s discussion of preaching throughout the Anglican Communion.
A review article by Mark Smith on Mike Ovey’s work on eternal subordination is countered with a response from Nick Tucker, one of Mike’s former colleagues and students.
The issue also contains the usual selection of book reviews on a range of subjects.
More details, including purchase and subscription issues are here.
