Dr Ros Clarke is to join the Church Society team as the new Associate Director.

The Council of Church Society is pleased to announce today that Dr Ros Clarke has been appointed as the new Associate Director of Church Society.

Ros currently works for the Diocese of Lichfield where she has pioneered the new role of Online Pastor. She has previously worked for Tyndale House in Cambridge, Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, Castle Church in Stafford, and many years ago was a maths teacher in Kent.

Ros has a degree in Physics from Oxford University, as well as a Masters in Theology from Oak Hill College. Her PhD from Highland Theological College was on canonical interpretations of the Song of Songs. She is a regular contributor to Crossway magazine and has published a number of other articles and essays including the introduction to Song of Songs in the NIV Proclamation Bible.

In her spare time, Ros is currently working on a Textiles degree from the Open College of the Arts. She loves reading romance novels with happy endings, and has written and published a few herself. Ros lives in a tiny house near Stafford, converted from a sixteenth-century sheep shed, and she is very glad that it has twenty-first century plumbing.

Dr Clarke will be working half-time for Church Society (beginning a few weeks after Easter) and will have responsibility for editing Crossway, organising our annual conferences, and working to increase awareness of the work of the Society.

Director Lee Gatiss says, “I’m thrilled that Ros will be joining our team. Her award-winning video and social media engagement, her fearsome intellectual gifts, her enviable organisational and creative talents, and her invaluable experience as a lay worker in the Church are just what we need at the present time, and she will substantially enhance the work of the Society.”

Ros said, “I’m very much looking forward to taking on this new role with Church Society and I’m excited about the possibilities ahead.”
